Never killed a deer on a windy (15-20mph) day. So good luck to all that brave it but this boy will be sitting in the house watching football. Sunday,Monday look much better with 2-5 mph wind and cooler temps. Taking off Monday for a all day sit if needed.

Not me either. As I have gotten older, busier at work and home, and with two kids getting more involved in activities, I have learned to spend my time in the woods wisely. I will not spend a wasteful day in a windy woods. I have enough flexibility at work that I can take precious vacation days with very short notice, or show up when I am scheduled to be off and the weather is not what I want.
I will not be in the woods tomorrow morning. I am, however, very anxious to go Sunday morning and whatever nice evenings we have in the next two weeks. I have decided that rather than taking off entire days, I am going to take off two hours early whenever the weather is favorable.

I'm sleeping in tomorrow morning, but I'm thinking about hanging a lock-on stand midday.

I can only think of 1 very windy day that I hunted a few years ago. It ended up being the best day I've ever had on that farm. Killed 2 does, saw a ton of chasing and got drawn on a good buck but couldn't find an opening. A buddy was hunting the other end and had a big 8 chase a doe right to him but also offered no shot. This was the last week before gun 3-4yrs ago and I think the winds were sustained 20-30mph all day.
So with that said, my daughter and I will be in our new stand tomorrow bright and early.
I do however dread getting to the stand. I'll be paddling our Jon boat a loong way against the wind going in.

Survived the boat ride and glad we went. Saw several does and a couple bucks. Also had 2 coyotes come through, only 1 left. 1st critter the kid has witnessed me kill. Pretty fun morning.

The day ended pretty good too. Changed stands for the afternoon and Becca took her first deer of the year with the crossbow. Nice mature doe.
I'll continue to hunt in high winds this time of year.
