That's a shame. When I Deer hunted down that, on a farm near Lake Malone, I often visited Uncle Lee's. Had a lot of interesting displays and lots of supplies for both Hunters & Fishermen. I doubt if Wing Supply will last either, as the economy is not that great down in Kentucky.

I thought that I had read on the Uncle Lee's website that Wing Supply was being sold.
I'm going to miss driving down there. I've saved a lot of money over the years by going there.

However, there are a ton of these internet stores out there, and I bet competition is really tough. Cabala's , Midway, Brownells, Gander Mountain, just to name a few, are all competing for customer's dollars.

And with the internet making it so easy to compare prices, and the sales tax thing, it's difficult for brick and mortar stores to compete. I find that it's hard to compete for for larger ticket items when sales tax is figured in and shipping costs are minimal (brick and mortar as compared to internet stores).

I'm not sure how much of it is going to be the same though. The lady I talked to down there yesterday said made it sound as though the name and website were all that was purchased.

I agree with your post, esshup. The only thing that the "brick & mortar" stores or (Mom & Pop stores) have over the internet stores, is if you are wanting to buy smokeless powder or primers, for your reloading, you don't have that "Hazmat" charge which doubles the cost of those items + you still have to pay regular shipping costs.

Correct. That is a good example of "brick and mortar" having an advantage over the internet stores. I've only purchased powder on the internet when none is or will be available locally. Case in point, WC-872 powder. I needed to purcase 16# of it for a rifle of mine, and all the local stores or gun shows that I went to had no idea what that powder was.
