Nice nanny! Crossbows are fun aren't they? Yes they are. Except for having to hold them in the stand, that's not very fun. I got just as excited about killing this one with a crossbow as I did the one last week with a wood longbow. This makes another weapon crossed off the list. I've killed deer with a compound bow, cross bow, primitive bow, shotgun, hand gun, and muzzle loader. I guess I need to save up for a 44 mag. rifle now.

That's a fine looking slick head! Nice job! Kudos to you also for letting your niece join the fun! I wouldn't exactly call it "letting" her join the fun. I don't think I could have kept her from going. She loves to track deer and she is pretty good at it to. She has her tracking gear ready to go once deer season starts. Her hat has a built in flashlight. Yesterday she told me I needed to shoot a deer because she was in the trackin' mood. She will be the one to continue our family's hunting tradition for another generation.

Congrats on the deer and kudo's to your niece. I see you had to raise the stock a bit on the x-bow for a good cheek weld!! for taking the time to do that as well.

I didn't raise the stock on it. I put a sleeve over the stock and wrapped it with tape to keep it from moving. I kept hitting the stock on my stand so I did that to quiet it down. I also wrapped all the metal swivels with fabric and tape to keep them from squeaking and hitting on stuff. I want to redo the wrap with some camo cloth to make it look better.

I am trying to get one of my nephews into it but not much luck so far and definitely don't want to push him.

What broadhead did you use, and is that the entry or exit in the picture?
