Never been there for hunting, but according to the state report there were 111 deer harvested from there last year. That put it #5 on the list.

When you go in past the check in booth, take the first right, we have always seen a lot of deer on both sides of the road while driving thru. If you keep driving, stay left and you will come to a gate that is locked now but open for the hunts. You can drive back there and it is some awesome ground. There is a parking lot on the right, park there and keep walking up the road to a trail head on the left. If you follow it back, it runs a ridge with a lake on one side and a hollow on the other. We whacked several in there a couple years ago. It is very desolate back there. Also, when you go past the check in booth, the road will split and come to a "Y", if you go right, the big woods on the left side, and the dry creek bed right there has been productive also. If you take the "Y" and go left, the property managers house is on the left side. It will be taped off, but before that in the same dry creek bed we also saw some nice deer in there. It is a very nice park, by far my favorite, but too far now that I have a family. Potato Creek SP is only 20min away and I grew up going there, so that is where we will go from now on. Good luck. You can PM me for some more detailed info if you like. Good luck.

Thanks I really appreciate that. The park is close to 3 hours away for me. I already made one trip to scout. I am hoping to get anther chance this week. I loved the layout and what I saw the first time I was there. I was thinking about maybe kayaking into the big ridge behind weber lake to avoid the hunting pressure. Has any one ever been in that area? How are the deer #s typically in that park? Anyone ever see any big bucks there?

I won't be making it up today. It will be Monday or Tuesday now. Killed one last night. I have to take him to the processor and do a little clean up.
