Congrats on the doe Met. Is that rifle scoped? How far of a shot would you be comfortable taking with it? And what weight bullet are you using? 158 gr. Federal American Eagle.

And what weight bullet are you using? 158 gr. Federal American Eagle. I got my 180 gr Buffalo Bore rounds on Monday. I'm hoping I get to test them out on deer sized game this weekend.

In my tower for the evening set. And of course my anti hunting neighbor sees me head back to my place. So he has to jump in atv and go cut wood on the property line. He only has a pile that's 5 story high. Couldnt burn it in 5 years. The bottom will rot before he gets to it. That's ok. He does this all the time. The deer in my west thicket just gets up and comes east. Right past me. Has worked for me before. Sometimes not. Good luck to everyone tonight. There is such a thing as hunter harassment ...

Im in what I use to call a deer stand. Turns out it's just a squirrel stand. Man I need to thin out some tree rats. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Enjoy your time in woods and with family.

Got out in Ohio for the last time before gun season. Saw 9 from the stand and 31 in fields on the way home. There aren't many hunts left in me this year. Losing the desire.

I'm with ya Salt. I'm losing the desire too. I've seen 3 deer in 2 weeks. Went pheasant hunting this morning to change things up. Might go after some squirrels this afternoon or tomorrow. Dad missed an 8 point this morning, came through his pasture with his nose to the ground looking for does.

No deer tonight, just a bunch of Toms in the cornfield. Thought it would be an awesome evening for deer movement. Back to in laws for more turkey!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DQElHYpe6MI could have killed these two with a single shot this evening as they munched acorns, but couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. I thought that they were both does when I uploaded the video, but now I'm thinking the one in the back may be a button buck. I also saw a small 8-pointer and another doe.

I thought that they were both does when I uploaded the video, but now I'm thinking the one in the back may be a button buck. I also saw a small 8-pointer and another doe. I've been guilty of shooting two Deer with one shot from my .44 Magnum rifle, on my last Deer hunt on my property (in Indiana) back in 2007. On the third day of my hunt, A large Doe came within shooting range and was slightly down hill in brush. When I shot I hit her and all of a sudden another smaller Deer staggered toward my stand and dropped. I thought to myself that this wasn't the Deer I shot at, so got out of my stand and looked and saw another blood trail. I looked and there lying about 50 feet was the large Doe. I shot her through the lungs/heart area and the .44 (240 gr. H.P.) went through the Doe and hit the smaller Deer, which I didn't see due to brush. Range was 60 yards.

I chose my stand on the north west end of the farm because that is where the deer sightings have been lately. Now I hear the neighbor running a combine through the standing corn, 300 yards from my stand. ..... on the south east corner.

Same stand as yesterday morning. I am starting to forget what a deer in the woods looks like.
