Swirling winds and an imminent bowel movement have sent me to the camper to reevaluate my life...

5pt buck came in dark to 13 yds. Noticed a distant doe going away. All in all a good morning for public land.

I am going to hunt a section of woods here at the Franklin County lease this evening that I rarely hunt. It's on a Ridge coming off the dam of the pond. The predicted wind is good for it. I have not hunted, or even visited this stand for at least 2 years. Not even sure it's still there..could have been stolen, for all I know. The logger was working on the neighboring property in the area I've been hunting a lot. I figure I'll give it a rest. Maybe the deer will avoid that area this evening anyhow, since he just left. Tomorrow morning I'll be hunting my property in Dearborn County. Tomorrow will mark the 1 year anniversary of my first buck harvest on that property.

Was out this morning. Saw button buck, fork horn and a doe with a doe fawn. No chasing here yet, but shouldn't be long. Noticed another large rub walking in that was done in last 2 days.

Arrived at stand a little early to check everything and make sure it was ok. Cut a few saplings out of shooting lanes. I've hunted here so rarely that it's almost like a new property. I'm just west of the pond...very thick creek bottom behind me and open hardwoods in front. Here's my view looking towards the pond.

Wife and daughter saw a "medium sized" buck cruise through their spot at 50 yards. I'm flat covered up with squirrels and chipmunks but nothing bigger, so far.

Perfect conditions for my best stand here on my Dearborn County property this morning. One year ago today, it happened for me right here as I dropped the first buck off this property. Will history repeat itself? Stay tuned.

Great morning to be out. Cold, foggy and calm wind. I'm in the urban spot trying to get my earn a buck doe. Had a mature doe come by around 730 and hang out for fifteen minutes with 40 yards. She got to 20 and I drew back but it was a little too dark to see through my peep. Anyone use light up sights? I couldn't make a shot. She never got spooked. Hoping she comes back by

I hear turkeys down the ridge from me a ways. I'd love to bust one. Still haven't taken a turkey off my place yet. Squirrel, deer, coyote, yes. Turkey, no. Missed one, but no harvest yet.

Northern Dearborn county on this balmy morning. Seen plenty of squirrels, a group of toms, and just had a buck harassing dome does in a thicket at about 75 yards.
