I didn't like what the wind was doing so I slipped down and moved to a different stand in a thick staging area paralleling the clover field. What I saw 10 yards from my stand has me excited. This rub was barely started on Saturday, 24 hours later, it's shredded! I'm hoping they aren't done with it just yet. There are others in here too I haven't checked today.

Rattled in 2 different bucks from a bedding thicket, one had to be under 40 yrds bedded when he stood up. Looks like moles coming in, just see the weeds start moving. Can't even see them till they are right on top of ya. Nothing I wanted to shoot. 3 does came through later and saw a bigger buck running to the corn field when leaving. There is now a scape in my driveway under one the acorn trees. Starting to heat up.

It's about to pop any day. I'm seeing bucks every time out now. Mostly little ones but some 2-3 year olds too. Rubs and scrapes popping up every day. It's going to get better every day for the next 3 weeks. I ask you, is there a better time of year? I'll be back in my best stand in the morning. A good crisp morning with s predicted NW wind is just the ticket!

So I took my daughter out today. Saw a total of 7 deer today. 2 Bucks the rest were does. Odd thing though is the bucks were still walking around together. Both 6 pointers so not shooters for me, but still strange to see them still hanging together. IDK maybe their just not ready in my neck of the woods.

Awesome morning. Played hopscotch trying to avoid all the scrapes along the trail walking in. Just before legal light I had 2 what I assume we're does come through in range. Shortly after, 3 bucks came from the other direction. 2 of them sparred off and on for about 15 min. Git a little heated, at times. All 3 looked to be decent 2.5yo, 1 was considerably bigger than the rest but smaller bodied.

Just had another round of excitement. Best I could tell it was 1 buck chasing 4-5does in front of me the another buck with a doe from the other direction. Both small bucks, they hung out and sparred for a while while their does left them. Now they're walking off together

Slow going in my neck of the woods. Haven't seen anything since opening weekend. Decided I'm going to stay out of the woods until this next weekend. Got a wild hair last night and wanted to glass the beanfield which I Hunt near. Right at last light IC four figures stand up out of the beanfield. One of which was definitely a buck his body was twice the size of the others. It is amazes me how something that big can just stay hidden all day laying in beans.

A big 140+ 10 pointer just slipped in from my right got behind me and stopped behind brush at 25 yds. Couldn't get a shot. He was down wind, and blew and took off. Then another doe crossed in front of me. I'm still shaking.

Why does it seem to happen that way with the good ones! Keeps it interesting though.

He Came from my right and then got behind tree. Awkward spot with Xbox. Also downwind. I could have dropped him with shotgun easy. That one's going to haunt me for a while.

Just finished the morning with 4 more does walking through at 25yds. Don't know exactly what I saw today, 5 or 6 bucks and over 10 does, maybe more. Fighting, chasing, etc. Probably the best sit I've ever had in Indiana.
Checked cams when I climbed down and the first deer that came through just before legal time that I thought was a doe was actually a pretty decent 8pt... also got my first bobcat pic. Pretty good day.
