In a ground blind chair nestled in some corn. Just passed on a doe and yearling both stopped in front of me at 30 yards. Mama doe then found me and half charged me. Then stomped, blew and away they went. Fun stuff!

Quiet evening so far here in northern Gibson county. Wind is mostly calm and the woods is nearly silent. No critters of any kind so far.

Farmer just finished picking the bean field by my stand no more than 15 minutes ago and I've already got five does out wandering around in it.

He hasn't been gone two years yet! My chair is very lose to where he went down though. Hallowed ground?

I love it when the combine is harvesting nearby. I've shot several doe, while they were watching the combine. If I'm around when they cut the corn, I will take a ride and take some video for you. The deer come out of the woodwork, when they're harvesting, especially corn.

Last light yesterday I had a set of twin bucks, both with spikes 7"-9" long walk out right under the tree stand. <5 yds, one even walked over and sniffed the rung of the ladder stand. Maybe the set of button buck twins that I watched all last year?
Anyway, I had to stay in the tree for a while then saw 2 bucks about 200 yds away half heartedly going at it. I heard their horns before that and watched them for 15 minutes. It was too dark to make out their antler size thru the 8x rangefinder, but one was definately a large deer - swayback and pot belly.
I had to stay in the stand until they disappeared into the woods so I didn't give away my location, I didn't get out of the woods until 7:30 CST. Not one doe to be seen.
I did walk the perimeter of the property mid-day and re-marked the perimeter property stakes. Found about 5# of Hen-of-the-woods and some button mushrooms, and brought home 2 fox squirrels. 8 hr. in the stand yesterday.

I returned to my spot this morning in trailing mode since I shot a nice doe right at dark yesterday evening. There was a blood trail but I backed out until morning. I found her in the woods adjacent to my corn field. Taken with crossbow and Rage 2-blade (which opened up just fine judging from the holes in both sides.) She is at the processor now being turned into cheese summer sausage, jerky, and tenderloins!

Too hot and easterly wind - I'm staying at work. Lol!
Besides, bugs ate me alive last night, and I heard four "poacher shots" the last ten minutes of legal shooting light off in the distance in different directions. Each was a single shot, with none in the hours before. I doubt there were four squirrel hunters that each bagged a single squirrel at last light.

I'm oui and settled in. I should have put my stand where I'm currently. Too hot for a blind.
Just had a hawk land behind me. Not even ten feet away at eye level. What a beautiful sight. We are truly blessed.

I'm in the blind turkey hunting after a storm came through. There was flock out in the field behind me when I got here. I got in the field next to it but haven't seen any more.

Sat in a ground blind near a pond tonight. Watched a doe and two small ones come down for a drink and then head back up the hill to eat some acorns. They did this three times. They stayed on the opposite bank and I never got a shot. When I was packing my stuff up at dark I noticed the small tree next to me start shaking. I looked up and saw the outline of a large owl against the blue sky 8' above my head. I guess it saw me moving and swooped down to get a closer look. I got my phone out to try and get a picture but when the screen lit up it flew away. I'm not sure what kind it was but it looked pretty big. Maybe the size of a red tailed hawk but thicker.
