Big buck down in Greene County. He had a doe with him. Man am I happy! Congratulations! Especially after guys like me have all but given up. I haven't been out since last weekend. LOL! What time did you get him, and what type of terrain (woods, field, etc.)?

Thanks. I got it right at 11:30. He and a doe came walking by. But before that there was 3 other does that came by. They were looking behind them, so I think the second rut finally hit down here. The terrain is hilly and they were between two ravines next to a creek. It is pretty much all woods here at this property, no farm land real close by that I can hunt.
My plan was to just walk down there and just kind of stalk for an hour or so, but two doe came in within minutes of me stopping, so I decided to hang out and just sit at the base of a big tree. The big boy came down the ridge that I was facing, and walked right to me. I shot him about 30 yards out. It was exciting!

My buddy went for a walk around the farm this morning to kill a doe....15 minutes later he gives me a text that he had one down. We took the ranger down this afternoon to get her and decided to sit in a ground level shooting house to see what came out closer to dark.... 2 small bucks and 6 does.
They milled around for 30 minutes or so then quickly made their way to a small standing bean field as darkness fell.

Watched a group of 12 does feeding in one of the hay fields about 5:00. Think they have fiqured out that hunting on the farm is over for this year.

Won't be long on mine....dad and rob have until Sunday evening and then its over.
Pulling all the stands out and waiting for a freeze to get a dozer in there and open up roughly 7 acres for food plots. Finally got around to doing the permit needed to allow them....
I also inherited a combine when I bought the place so I'm going to try and get in the good graces of my neighbor to the north and see if he wants it....if not it'll get hauled to the scrap yard.

Good shooting guys!! Congrats.
I saw one squirrel tonight. I'll hit the woods the next 2 mornings, then I'll spend some time at the farm for the late antlerless season. They saw a lot of deer crop damage during harvest, so they want the herd thinned a bit. I'm thinking of bringing the spotting scope and really looking at the deer to make sure they aren't bucks that already dropped their antlers. I saw one on the trail cam that lost one side already.
