The problem with great mast years is that EVERYONE has great mast. I expect to see LESS deer this year because of it. Deer don't have to go 20 feet to find plenty of food. Last year mast was hit or miss (mostly miss) due to the drought. I was fortunate to have a few hot oaks on my place and saw a ton of deer. This year, mast is all over. It's like farming, you almost have to hope for a good crop and for others to have worse luck to make big money.

Loaded here. Also there are more persimmons than I have ever seen. My Persimmon Trees were also loaded but the fruit has all gone, being eaten by the critters running about.
