I am going to enter the draw. Has anyone been drawn before and is it worth it? No, I don't want anyone's secrets or tips on where to go. I just want to know if it is worth taking vacation days. I am NOT a buck hunter and just want to fill the freezer.
Also, I see that there are two hunts, two days each. Do you get drawn for a two day hunt, or do you get all four days.
Thanks is advance for any useful information.

You can get drawn for, early, late, both, or neither; assuming you put in for both. Done Brown Co twice got one once, came up empty the other time. Never hunted that park so can't help you there

I've done 3 SP hunts, 2 at Shades and 1 at McCormicks Creek.
I got a big ol fat nanny doe at Shades, and wasn't able to get a shot on the yearling with her (muzzleloader).
Had miserable, very windy weather at McCormicks Creek. I still saw a doe, but didn't have a clear shot.
Second time at Shades, another hunter shot a nice buck, which ran right past me, but I couldn't get a shot on it finish him off. I helped him track it a long way, but he didn't get a good hit on it. I saw 2 more does later, but couldn't get a clear shot on them.
They can definitely be worth it; however, they can be tricky since you can't really go in and trim shooting lanes.

I put in for both early and late hunts last year, and I was only drawn for the late hunt at Shades which I thought would be good. Spent two days there, saw nothing the first day. Had a deer (I think, didn't have my light ready) come under my stand in the pitch black dark way before legal hours, after that nothing. Shades is not on the list for this year.

There used to be a lot of nice Bucks there. There are a lot of Turkeys and Quail in the park also. The park used to be a military base.
