I like my lever guns, they are fun; however that article did nothing to convince me they are a NEED.

I really like my open-sight Model 92 .44 mag. when I an doing the sneak & stock for deer. It's light, short, shoulders quick, smooth action, & a much bigger field of view.

I own a Rossi Puma ( A Model '92 Clone) in .44-40 Winchester. Good little carbine, but only shot one Ground Hog with it plus a coyote. Never used it for Deer hunting though.

My 1894 in 44mag was really handy for the Park hunt, however I'm afraid with my eyes the 2.5X scope it wears is a necessity.
