How do you deal with ticks when out hunting in the spring?

What's the best way to keep from getting bitten by deer ticks or dog ticks. What type of insect repellants do you use and which ones work the best

Do you spray your hunting cloths with something before you go afield?  If so what do you use and how do you apply it.  Do you soak it heavily or just lightly.

I think about tucking my pant legs inside my socks to keep them from getting to my ankles. 

I use Deet for repelling Mosquitoes or use a Thermocell device to keep the Mosquitoes at bay. 

I never worried too much about ticks when I was younger but now that I know that they carry Lyme's disease I'm more concerned with the smaller deer ticks.  I've got enough problem with join pain now   and don't really want to get Lyme's disease from a tick bite.  I know several people that have been diagnosed with that disease who live in the neighborhood.  It's a chronic disease that is hard to cure if you don't catch it early.  It takes a lot of antibiotics to kill it. 

I'm going to the store today and I'm going to pick up some fresh insecticide for ticks.

Last year I found a lot of them on me and I see them crawling towards me at the fishing ramp. They are on the damn concrete and moving towards me. I had two crawl up my pants while I was standing on the cement casting at the launch ramp.   A few years before that I was sitting in a folding chair near a small cypress tree and saw three ticks hanging on the pine needles trying to reach for me. I was only about a ft away and they could detect my CO2 from my breath.  They are aggressive and not as slow as you think. They can move pretty fast when they want to.
