"Nature Boy" by Nat King Cole. 6/27/1948
Funny, I don't remember it, but it certainly was appropriate!

Hmmmm.. They don't go back far enough for mine... Maybe no music then or they didn't keep count of the number one hit.

The number one song, on my birthday was: That Lucky Old Sun - Frankie Laine. Everytime I hear that song it makes me feel a little sad. I don't know why though.

Hmm, for me on Jan 30, 1973 it was Elton John Crocodile Rock and then on my daughters B-day Oct 13, 1997 it was Elton Jon, Candle In The Wind!!!
All those years apart and both of us have Elton John,, that's pretty cool to me,, thanks for sharing that site with me!!

I was kinda disappointed to see that the link didn't go back far enough for my birthdate, either, Woody.
I Googled it up, tho, and my best guess turned out be off by a year. I had figured Bing Crosby and "White Christmas", for a 12/20 birthday, but that one came out in '43 and topped the charts for three straight months.
Ol' Bing was topping the charts again the following year, on my birthday, but with the Andrews Sisters singing "Don't Fence Me In".
Still prefer the songs from that era, when you could actually tell what they were singing about, even on the scratchy reception of the car radio. Dinah Shore, The Mills Brothers, the music of Glen Miller....I need closed captioning to help decipher the subject matter of the current chart toppers, and haven't heard any that were worth the effort in a long time.
