What is the population Dave? Where are the areas it is still OK to shoot female deer?
Rhetorical questions.... please don't try to answer because you do not know.

The range and veracity of arguments that some topics generate makes one wish the topic did not exist.
This is becoming one of those topics.

But so much of our current situation has gotten fixed, so many opinions have been changed and so many new things have been brought up since last years post about...the same thing. Lol

Check my post you're referring to, Swilk, as I made it easier to understand it. I don't know the total population of Deer in the State of Indiana, do you?? I said or ment that Indiana Counties, that have or had an excessive population of Doe, back several years ago, either have a declining Deer population or have stabilize the herd size. <Sorry for the confusion>

According to a recent article. The United States Deer population is down at least 3 million from 2008. And from another article the United States Deer population is down by at least 6 million from 2003.
So Deer numbers are down in many areas.
Deer harvest data can be deceiving.
Example: Lets say a hunter used to see 10 to 15 deer per day, and take 3 per season. Now today that same hunter only sees 10 to 15 deer per week, but still is taking 3 deer per season.
Even though this hunter is obviously seeing less deer they are still able to take the same amount. This could be the scenario for many Indiana hunters and hunters in other states, they are seeing less deer but still taking the same amount, which is why harvest data appears to stay relatively the same.
