The doe that I shot Saturday was about 400# by time that I got her in the truck!
Funny, I didn't get all that much meat off of her though!

It says he ESTIMATED the weight. Very few people estimate correctly. In the story he says he hopes to have some meat leftover after the holiday meal. So I say he is full of it.

300 pounds is believable.. 450 would just about have to be a deer with some type of thyroid disorder. Not impossible, but I'd have to see it on a scale to believe it.

LOL, gotta love it though. Soon, other states will hear of our elk size whitetail here in Indiana.

This could be the deer the rumors are about. I was also told over 300 inches of horn. I sure couldn't find a pic of this buck. Also I once shot a 10 pointer that field dressed 220 and I sure as heck couldn't drag him by myself.

300lb live weight would be possible .... not real probable though. Would take about 250lbs dressed to make it there??
Unless I see it go across a set of scales that I trust I take "weights" with a grain of salt.

Although it has a good sized rack, it is NOT 300in and will be lucky to be half that! Nevertheless, nice deer. Congrats to him. Jay

300 pounds is not uncommon for live weight. the big deer we kill along the wabash river go 240 to 250 field dressed. had one break a 300 pound scale one year that wasnt field dressed.

Does anyone remember that huge buck on the old realtree video killed by the woman in canada? I think her name was Lisa Lefort. That buck was over 400 live weight I think.

this guy was roadkill about 3 miles from my house. You must be awfully close to me. If it weren't for the trees, I could probably almost see the intersection of the Hwy. 54/58 split from my house.
