HBJ, ya done good! Wanted to go today, but with 5+ inches of snow, and the wind blowing 20-30 mph., probably gonna stay home. From the looks of the forecast, between now and the 31st, I may be done for the season.

I think the fat lady already sung for me. I have snow drifts all over the place and I don't see me fighting it for some squirrel hunting. I found this contest to be just as much fun as they all have been and hope to do it again this August. I am happy to have been asked to be on your team maddog. Hope we can team up again next season. I remember the season before I lost my dad I shot 25 squirrels and it was my best season ever. Told my dad I was going to get 50 the next season and he was like BS!!! Lost dad 3 weeks before season opened and brought home 51 squirrels by November 1st. I tracked male vs female, percentage killed, and location lol. Just a wee bit obsessive on them that year. They are a great low fat food too.

Even though the season doesn't end until tonight, I'd like to present HillBillyJeff with this award. To my team mate. For stellar performance in the harvesting of limb chickens, here's your plaque. The shootingest dude i know in the quest for the illusive limb chicken! maddog

Well, went out from 9 to 11am. Took a stand in a grove of big oak trees. Could see tracks everywhere in the snow. Never saw a squirrel even twitch, in almost 2hrs. It started to spit snow, and my feet got cold, so I quit. Got home and cleaned the rifles up, and put them away. Hunting the contest was a blast again this year. Woody, hope we get to do it again next yr.

I wasn't planning on going out any more, but on the short drive to the store I saw 4 squirrels getting salt off the road. Got the juices flowing and I had to go out. Heard one, but could never eyeball it. Thanks for the award maddog, that this is pretty different looking!!! Someone mentioned a lot of 1s and 2s and for me its because I do a lot of walking. I always carry the rifle with me when I walk. Usually results in a squirrel every now and then. I would join the turkey contest but when I do I seem to struggle at it. I don't want to jinx myself by doing so. Congrats to everyone getting after limb chickens this year. One month until open water season...time to get the poles and reels all set up and the tackle box organized. Here is my little friend and his squirrel hunting adventure.
