Don't know about Indiana, but they are legal to shoot in Ky. Nobody has nor has there been any confirmed....wild ones that is. They are illegal to shoot in Indiana. I think it's kind of crappy but it is what it is. I'd rather stay on top of the food chain. JMHO You can shoot one if it threatens you.

Same way with black bears in Ky., but you better have scratch marks on you somewhere if you do it.

As you probably know the IDNR got a Trail Cam picture of a Cougar a few years ago in Greene County, IN Google a bit more on that one. There was an escapee from a nearby rehab facility that they never recaptured.

There was an escapee from a nearby rehab facility that they never recaptured. The escape was a juvenile female that fresh tracks were still being found outside the fence several months afterwards. The trail cam pics were last last spring/summer of a juvenile male. So, if the chick stuck around and the dude found her, then Indiana does have a breeding the population-however small.

Someone not far from where the trail cam captured the cougar saw a mom and her babies near a pond on their property.

Fabulous, like the @#$% coyotes weren't bad enough. That settles it, I'm packing in the woods from now on.
