swilk, the NULA is a great gun for hunting rough country or where you have to walk a lot. Mine weighs 7.2 lbs ready to hunt. The barrel is probably at the minimum contour for a 50 and I wouldn't want to shoot really heavy loads in it. It has a Douglas barrel and is a good shooter. I had to tweak the load a bit until I found something that shot MOA. It has some recoil but not bad about like a 20 ga slug gun. It will be field tested this weekend. Melvin says it will shoot 3 inch groups at 300 yards which I can't verify yet.

Wow... I like the concept... but don't have THAT flavor of money.

Jabba, the old Knight 85 and 92's are still good guns! I carry a 92 with a black synthetic stock, and it is light as a feather compared to lugging any Remington slug gun around. Carrying an 11-87 is like carrying a bag of shot around all day! I also own a Savage, but have not got it dialed in yet!
