I wouldn't use an air horn on public or private property. If I want to hear that kind of noise I'll just move to the city.

My only comment on this is ... why would you want to use one?
Why add any such obnoxious noise to either private or public ground?
If you want to locate a bird, cut hard, crow call, goose call, owl call, etc. Sometimes birds just want to be quiet no matter what you do. It is called turkey hunting. Leave the party toy noise makers at home.

I've heard them shock gobble to most every imaginable loud noise, but the natural calls of other animals seem to be the ones that work best. The past few years in my hunting area, a roosters first early morning crows have really set them off.

I don't think I would want to hear a air horn go off near me...I remember watching a turkey video several years ago(can't remember if it was Drury or Knight&Hale)but they used something like a dog whistle to locate turkeys..Anyone tried that?

The dog whistle would be an interesting thing to try! I bet you'd get the 'yotes fired up with one of those also!

Please god don't get air horns started! Too late. I've got one off of an old semi-truck and I'm bringing it to Kentucky.

I've used a dog whistle for the past 5-6 years and it has always seemed to work well for me.....except on one of those days where they seem to refuse to gobble at anything.

They gobble good where I am at ecspecially crows or Geese, there are alot of geese in my area. I think the best thing to do is just scrape the leaves with your hand real loud, that drives em nuts. I have got em real worked up with that tactic.
