hmmm I was planning on changing to 209 in 2011 but after all this, I think Ill stick to pyrodex. At least it always go BANG for me. messy...but reliable in my experiances

At least it always go BANG for me. messy...but reliable in my experiances Try it you won't regret it it. I have never had any problems what-so-ever. I have shot 1-1/2 bottles of it. I had my Traditions Pursuit loaded up the entire muzzy season. In and out of snow, rain, sub zero temps and it shot just fine the last evening. Use the hottest shot shell primers you can find. My only problem with BH209 is finding it. It is very hard to come by down here in the southern part of the state.

What ya shootin? Sounds like what I had when I grabbed 777 primers instead of the W209's for my new Optima And thats what i have is the 777 primers! I will look online for some hotter primers, any suggestions?

lugnutz try the CCI 209M or Federal 209A primers with BH209. As far as I know those are the 2 hottest primers around. Alot of guys use W209's without hangfires also.
