I just got this from the IDNR.. All I wanted to let you know about a new webpage set up that I think will be a great service to hunters. The list of Indiana Deer and Turkey Check Stations is located at... www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/6271.htm ....and allows users to select the county they are interested in checking game. The resulting page provides a list of all registered check stations and phone numbers in that county, which allows hunters to call each check station to get hours of operation and location. Please feel free to pass this information along as you see fit.

Telecheck like Kentucky would solve the problem. Went to my check in station several times last year to check in deer. They were out of tags. Took them 2 days to get them in from the DNR.

Telecheck like Kentucky would solve the problem. Went to my check in station several times last year to check in deer. They were out of tags. Took them 2 days to get them in from the DNR. In addition to Tele-Check, we can now report our harvest on-line. Back, when I lived in Indiana, during the 2003 Deer Season, I shot a nice Buck on a Sunday Afternoon. I took my Buck to a "check station" nearest to my home and it was closed! Took it to another one and it also was closed on Mondays. Anyway I had to drive 50 mlles total inorder to find a place where I could check in my Deer.

I live next door to one "Washington County, D/T Mauck's General Store Salem (812) 883-0833 " They are closed Sunday and Monday. But my wife works there. We watch for hunters on those days and a note posted on store to come get her. ;] Our area is full of hunters so the store does what they can to accomidate. So if you are in the area(between Salem & Heneryville) and need or think you will need to check one in, get a hold of me. I will give you our number and or directions.
There will be a small fee for weekend check in's. One backstrap per deer. (JOKING!!)

Denny's Tippy Mart in Marshall county has new owners. Still listed but buddy said there was no signs indicating it was a check in station any more. Not sure.
HOWEVER the Argos one .........so nice of them to open a check station half way from my home to my main hunting ground. *grin* Now all I have to do is CONNECT lol.
Drove by at 8 Pm...............still open too.
