I have lived in Parke, and currently in Clay. The hunting in Parke County can be great but I think it goes in cycles. I have roughly 450 acres in Parke County that is full of turkey and deer. I have also have 50 acres in Putnam and 800 acres in Clay County that is the same if not a little better than Parke County. Putnam County has been the least productive for some reason. I see more tresspassers in Parke during firearms season and they usually are from the Indy area and claim to be lost.... every year. Upland birds of rare on any of the properties and I credit that to the removal of wind rows and "clean farming practices".
