Saw loads of deer in the fields on the way home this evening. Just about every field had a deer or 6 in it that I could see. Pastures, cut corn, and beans.

well, they finally started picking the corn, 2 days ago. They got about 1/2 the farm done, as of last nite. Saw 1 doe that got bumped out of a headland they were finishing, as I was heading for the truck. Problem is, its raining this am, and I wonder if they will get it done by Fri. or Sat. Sure been a frustrating season.

if you stick it out all of gun and ml and still donmt get your buck then you can hang up your hat and say i gave it my all......if you give up your gonna be sick after season goes out and you think man should of tried harder. since bow ive only seen 5 does and this bow was the most bucks ive ever seen about 1-2 every hunt...but i know it will only take one buck to walk in range and you forget about all your heartache.lol

I would be happy just to have a big farm to hunt on.

renegade, I have no intention of giving up. The boy and I will hunt Sat/Sun. I also got a ML to use this year[haven't had one for 3-4 yrs.]. Hopefully they can get the corn finished up before Sun., but I ain't holdin my breath.

I would love to have an upicked corn field next to my hunting area, considering nothing got planted around my hunting area due to the wet spring and wet fall......

I had a couple really good encounters with mature bucks on the edge of standing corn, so did a buddy of mine. It was nov. 3, 7, and 14, just had to wait them out. Older bucks love that standing corn, I rattled and grunted one of them out of it. I'd take it any day, best season of sightings since 06. I think some whoppers will go down this weekend and next.

Saw a lot of corn being harvested yesterday, so deer should be heading into the woods more.

hunt as close to beading areas as possible. the bucks are only moving in the first hour in the morning heading back in and the last half hour before dark. me and timex have filled 3 of our 6 buck tags this way(2 in ind and 1 in ky, still have 2 ill and 1 ky tag left). it has been slow but this has been one of our most productive seasons yet.

I agree or at least hope that you guys are right about the Muzzleloader season. I have seen alot of smaller bucks but no shooters and have put many hours in on the stand. I think the rut is still on but dwindling down , the warm weather has taken the sharp peak out of the picture and leveled the rut out on a longer but less intense process. Have seen only two shooter bucks the whole archery and firearm season combined. Things may pick up , one can only hope. Still has been a blessed season for me , I have enjoyed the warm weather, the solitude and majesty of the deep woods . No deer but an Awesome God , who could ask for more?
