Went to KY for 3 days over the weekend. Saw well over 20 deer. I had shots on 2 yearlings a small 1.5 year old doe and a fork that looked like a spike until he got up on me. So I passed some shots. I knew that place was loaded with does but they were really thick this time. I had 10 out Sunday night. No matter where I set up I seemed to be about 40-50 yds. away from 3-4 nice does. If things are like this when I go back with a rifle I'm going to do some damage.

Tough weekend for Magnum and I. Wasn't until Sunday morning that either one of us got our eyeballs (not just heard it) on one & it was during shooting hours. She came in on me and when she got to an opening all I had was a shot on her butt. However she had turned and was heading Magnums direction, he'll teach her. He said if he had been 2 trees down he would have had her; it ended up all he had a shot on was her head and he passed - I was proud of him. He said if she had turned the other way after passing him he would have had her then as well. She doesn't know what a lucky gal she is. There is just so much brush back there you have to catch them in a opening or you end up doing more watching than shooting.

Glad to hear that some of you guys are having a successful year so far! I have shot a doe early in the year, and i am still trying to get Shawn on at least a doe. He had a shot opening weekend, and the cap on his muzzy didn't go off. I felt sorry for him. Hopefully next year we will be able to get on a lease somewhere, but until then we are gonna wait for something to come through on our small patch of woods that we own behind the house.
Good luck everyone!!!
