Well got my Indiana buck last nightchalk another one up for team 11...mainfame 10 with a couple stickers, 12 pointer, 222 # field dressed..Here's the story: I had to set up in a fenceline last night, no trees, so I was hunting off the ground. I found an old dead log about 36 inches in dia. Set my camo chair on top of it. Brushed myself in..He came through the bottleneck where to fencelines make a corner into a cornfield at around 6:45 or so..I saw where he was using the trail going into the corn from a bean field. The corner was real brushy with multiflora rose and vines, so he would not be able to see me until he cleared the brush and by then it was too late..Wind was perfect, setup was perfect, first time I hunted this spot...put an arrow right through his heart at 8 yards..I watched him run off about 70 yards and spun a cookie in the beanfield..that was it.. Found the arrow right where he was standing, but it was missing about 4 inches on the fletch/nok end, broke off..I told my son, it must still be in the deer..when I gutted it, sure enough, that small piece was stuck dead center of his heart..we took a picture of it....I guess I'm gonna have to do some doe management now.. SCORED...
CONGRATULATIONS..

tried to post a picture of the arrow broke off on the heart but the picture file is too big..How do I post pictures like that? Most any picture software will let you resize them. 800x600 is best.

Okay here's the heart just as I pulled it from the deer..Don't get much better...and he still ran 70 yards with his heart centerpunched....unbelievable..I harvested probably 75 deer with a bow over the years and never seen this before, the piece of arrow still in the heart..We figure he kicked so hard when I shot him that it instantly snapped the arrow off, the rest of it was laying right where he stood when I shot him...I watched him drop from the fenceline..tough animal to run 70 yards like that..his lungs were jello, not much left..
