Here are the Ideas that I feel would benefit hunters to the greatest extent. more or less in order. More Urban Zones. Hunter Access, Either sex firearms, Crossbows in all Archery, Antlerless ML in Oct (1 week), Tele check, Extend ML.
Next but less beneficial. Combo tags (while saving the hunter money it does take away from the DNR.) Earn a buck by killing county bonus does. Donate a doe and get a doe tag. Extend archery from mid Sept to Jan 31.

Are there many H-I members voting on this poll? The highest thing voted so far is tele-check with 20 votes. I would have hoped for hundreds of votes on many of these items.
Seems like the NRC wouldn't consider 20 votes as much of influence. I could be wrong tho...

I agree with this post but would add that ,The second buck sould be high on the list and awarded back to IN hunters" not NR hunters HA HA!!!"and if that is the case at the slightly higher dollar amount for the tag like say $40.00 per second tag to help with hunter access and obtaining hunting land and habitat inhancement programs .This money should not go anywhere but tese items period.

I think that the numbers are less important than the percentages and what the majority want to change .Because like all polling it is likely right in line with the thoughts of those that do not participate in the poll statewide! JMHO Numbers arn't that important.Keeping the majority happy is what counts in all things the minority dose not rule in the real world.

I'm going to have to cut this off a little sooner than I expected. I was informed that the input period for making suggestions to the NRC and IDNR will deadline April 1st.
Get you votes in as soon as possible.
Thanks,
WW

The top ten vote getters so far are:
1) Improve Hunter Access (22 votes, 9.2%)
2) Eliminate OBR (one buck rule) (21 votes, 8.8%)
3) Go to a tele-check system (20 votes, 8.4%)
4) Move the gun season out of the main rut (18 votes, 7.5%)
5) Program to donate venison to the hungry no cost (16 votes, 6.7%)
6) Keep OBR (one buck rule) (15 votes, 6.3%)
7) Allow crossbows during all archery seasons (13 votes, 5.4%)
8) Re-instate the Two Buck Rule with a premium price 2nd buck (13 votes, 5.4%)
9) General firearm tag to be either sex (12 votes, 5%)
10) NR bonus tags same price as resident’s (11 votes, 4.6%)
Unfortunately we do not have time to hash each one out and get everyone's ideas on each item. We need to have a write up for each item as soon as possible as we have an April 1 deadline to submit these. If we did not have a short deadline we would go through another phase of listing all the positive attributes of each item and how the IDNR can best implement them.
I will post a request thread asking for individual writeups from any member that wants to give me one on any item.
Thanks for helping on this worthwhile project.
