what is everyone's turkey setup for this season?
I just got a 3.5 inch 870 (my gun the past several years was a 3 inch 870 with a hasting .640 and 3 inch winch supremes hi veloc #5)
I am going to hunt with the 3.5 inch 870 this year so now I am wiating for some warmer weather to pattern some choke/shell combos ;D
My first choice of shell will be a 3.5 inch winchester supreme #5's; any suggestions on chokes to start with? ;D

I know the hastings .640 will be way too small for 2 ounces of shot in those 3.5 inch shells ;D

I use a Remington 870 Express Turkey 3" that I had the forcing cone lengthened and backbored. It has a simmons scope on it as well. I use Federal Flight Control #5 shells and a Kick's .660 tube.

I've had good luck with my Mossberg 500, Win Super X 3"#5, Standard full choke. I've shot it a several birds out to 30 yds and killed them all.
I think a good number of misses can be blamed on very tight chokes, fired at a bird that came in too close.

Browning Sweet 16, factory full choke, Winchester Super X #6 shot... I know its not very high tech but it has worked very well for me in my Turkey hunting career.

I know quite a few guys that shoot 3.5" 870's. In a sled for patterning/sighting in, and the few number of shots you typically take while turkey hunting, it's not a big deal. Wouldn't want to dove hunt with it tho!

Mossberg 535 12g Thumbhole with a SSX choke. I haven't shot it yet so I haven't made up my mind shell wise..leaning toward Federals. Also have an EOTech Holographic sight.

Winchester SX3 is the gun. Need to get a turkey choke and play with loads. This will be the first time this gun has hit the woods, to this point it has only seen time on the skeet range.

exactly, bore sight it, check the patterns in a sled, then hit the woods for the ONE shot I used to shoot a mossberg 835 3.5 inch gun, it was a hard hitter but tolerable I know quite a few guys that shoot 3.5" 870's. In a sled for patterning/sighting in, and the few number of shots you typically take while turkey hunting, it's not a big deal. Wouldn't want to dove hunt with it tho!

Mossberg 935, .670 Gobblin' Thunder choke, Truglo red dot sight, probably will go with Rem 3" 4x6 shells. Those along with Winchester Supreme 3" 5's, Rem Nito 3" 5's and Kent 3.5" 5's all shot well out of my gun. 50 yards and in SHOULD be a dead bird, inside 25, his head might be a red mist. Hoosiernavy and I tried out those Win Supreme 3.5" 5's and I'll say I'd rather shoot slugs all day than those things.
