I always kind of wished we would take vetrans day off, for some odd reason the company I work for takes presidents day off and not vetrans day off, I know a whole lot more vets than I do presidents!

We are given Martin Luther King Day as paid vacation but not Veteran's Day which steams my you-know-what everytime someone trys to justify it. If it hadn't been for the Veteran's, many with the ultimate sacrifice, there would be no MLD!!!

Two things. One I worked a lot of holidays other than Christmas and Easter. No we did not have full staff, no there were no office workers, there was no factory, there was no salaried. Just 3-5 people in the Data Center.
Two- Hey It Is Oct. 1. Shut down the plant lets go hunting, do not have to call in sick and tell a lie. And you get paid to go. What more can you want.
I too would have preferred Veterans Day to either Presidents Day or Martin Luther King.

I realize that not everyone will shar my views that this country was founded on Christian principles by Christians.....Tom Jeff....maybe not.
This is how the rest of the world has become either Muslim States or just Muslim in general. They come in and push for what they want they get it and the inch turns into a mile. It is happening all over the world and now it's coming to a neighborhood near you.
Yep let them do what they want to do.....alls good.
Oh look a Muslim add at the top of this page....nice.

Why not just tell employees that they have X number of holidays which they can take whenever they want and not automatically give holidays for Christmas, Christmas Eve, Kwanzaa, Good Friday, Eid-Al-Fitr, and Festivus?

Why not just tell employees that they have X number of holidays which they can take whenever they want and not automatically give holidays for Christmas, Christmas Eve, Kwanzaa, Good Friday, Eid-Al-Fitr, and Festivus? That would never fly...good for a small facility that is flexable or an office environment that can set their own hours, but in most cases holidays have to be scheduled around and in some cases the holliday is just extra pay as the plants never shut down. Besides those who want all the time off yet still hold a fulll time job should just go work for the state. I remember my days there the month of November and December I probably only worked 1 full week. Man those were the days, no responsibility, no accountability, no stress, no nothing, just an easy job and a paycheck...Why'd I quit? Oh yea the pay was equal to the responsibility/accountability.

Because you grew a concience and got tired of living off of money taken from others at gunpoint?
