All three men, Roberto Martinez, Alvaro Perez and Luis Coronel, are illegal immigrants who haven't been in the U.S. long, 6News' Ben Morriston reported. "Apparently one of them called to her. She turned toward him to see what he wanted and another one grabbed her … from behind by her hair and dragged her into a car," said Johnson County Prosecutor Lance Hamner. The victim, who was taken from outside the Westminster apartments, was held in a car and driven around as the men took turns raping her while she tried to fight them off, police said. The woman told police that the men drank beer as they drove for at least an hour during the attack. "She was apparently beaten. She had a lot of physical injuries … where she'd been scratched and hit," Hamner said. The woman was eventually returned to the apartment complex. "This is very rare we have this violent of a crime … in this city," said Greenwood Police Chief Joe Pitcher. Police said the men were taken into custody outside strip malls on U.S. 31 shortly after the attack. Each of them faces charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct and confinement and could be sentenced to up to 30 years of prison if convicted on all counts. Hamner said that because each of the suspects are in the U.S. illegally, they are a flight risk. That's why they were held without bond in the Johnson County Jail |

I would spend about .10 on each of them (after their due process of course).
Take them out back behind the courthouse and put a .22 behind each ear.

Take them out back behind the courthouse and put a .22 behind each ear. kind of trash i would like to see walk under my treestand at 20 yrds. with a nice razor sharp broadhead setting on the end of the old hoyt. the .22 behind the ear would be too quick for these scumbags. |

Their nationalities are irrelevant, the only thing that matters was the crime itself.
A remarkably similar incident occured down here in Clarksville recently, a girl left a bar to smoke dope with four Hispanic men in a car in the bar's parking lot. Her boyfriend was inside the bar when she left with the men. They instead drove her to the apartment of one of the men, drugged her, and then three of the four gang raped her. Considering where it happened the attackers could more easily have been indigenous blacks owing to their much greater prevalence there, and their propensity for committing the majority of violent crimes in that particular locale. The outcome for the girl would have been no different. Xenophobia and broadbrushing entire cultures isn't the answer.

Rape should be a CAPITAL offense. I cannot think of a more brutal crime, a crime which takes away the humanity, the security, the faith and trust of a human being, and all their family, than rape.
It`s the most vile, disgusting act imaginable, and those guilty should be killed immediately.

No big surprise really. They broke the law when they snuck in, yet people think they will suddenly become good law abiding citizens once they get here! Put a fence up, run some electricity thru it, then declare open season on ANYTHING that makes it over or under or thru. My .02

No big surprise really. They broke the law when they snuck in, yet people think they will suddenly become good law abiding citizens once they get here! Put a fence up, run some electricity thru it, then declare open season on ANYTHING that makes it over or under or thru. My .02 How does that prevent legal Americans from raping and abducting someone? So do we just start blaming all bad things on illegal imigrants and thinking some how a fence will magicly prevent crime from occurring?  Wake up. We need to punish the criminals for each crime and do the best to prevent crime (illegal imigration, rape, murder, theft,...). Sometimes the best prevention is a quick and sever punishment! |

LOL--I also live very close to my "very protect ed and protect ive" boyfriend...don't mess with Mbogo!! ;D I was walking Mbogo's dog by the Westminster apartments two or three days after this happened...creepy. Too creepy. I never got extremely close to that place because it has creeped me out for the past two years since it became "Little Mexico", but I guess I got close enough... I agree--immediate capital punishment for these scumbags is in order. Maybe we should send them to federal prison and let them be taken care of by the other inmates--I hear rapists don't last too long there, so we likely wouldn't have to pay for them for a long time, plus I think it would be a more appropriate way to go than lethal injection, which would be way too humane. |

Stay safe greyhound! that area is not really that bad outside of that one apartment complex. there is lots of crime in there and the Greenwood cops know it and keep a close eye on it I live about 15 min south of there. 76 *shudder* I am a 26-year-old woman who lives very close to the Westminster Apartments.... Stay safe greyhound! that area is not really that bad outside of that one apartment complex. there is lots of crime in there and the Greenwood cops know it and keep a close eye on it I live about 15 min south of there. 76 You know what our advice is going to be......... Thanks, Chevy! Yes, I agree--the area is generally very safe and feels that way outside of that apartment complex. Apparently Westminster wasn't so creepy before it became "Little Mexico", and I hope they've stepped up law enforcement there. You pretty much have to be careful anywhere you go, but I've never felt unsafe for short times outside at night or walking somewhere during the day. |
