I went last year without wearing any rubber boots at all and I had more deer close to my stand then I have ever had before. It was also the first year I killed two deer in one season. I usually put my hunting clothes on after I get to the spot and I spray down real good with some scent killer. Seemed to work just fine for me.

I generally wear some version of Rocky boot. Snake boots for warm weather and CornStalkers with 1000 g thinsulate for cold. I keep them in plastic bags with earth wafers when not in use and spray the bottoms with Acorn scent sometimes. I have had deer track me to the ladder on occasion with this method. I have also have watched does cross my trail with no effect.
