So there we are, back at camp around noon time on opening day. My buddy and his dad just breasted out their gobbler and the meat was on ice. After staring at the skillet of semi-hardened bacon grease from the mornings breakfast he asked if I had ever tried to cook turkey in bacon grease. I gave him that, "Ewww" look and told him no way. He was convinced it would be good, so he sliced off a couple "chicken finger" size filets from one of the breasts and drops them into the now hot bacon grease. He cooks them till they are done (it didn't take but 10 minutes) and pulled them out and let cool. He was the first to try, and after a little convincing that he wasn't lying to me, I bit into one of the filets. It was OUTSTANDING!!!! Hokey smokes it was good.... Just like deep fried, but instead of peanut oil it was in bacon grease. I couldn't believe how good they turned out..... so good in fact that I know for certain if I ever shoot a turkey of my own that I will be frying it up in a skillet of bacon grease.
Give it a try!

Bacon grease fried anything is good. Well almost. Brussel sprouts would still taste like brussel sprouts..

That sounded like a winner from the get go! Even popcorn is better when it's cooked in bacon grease!

Wild Turkey Breast strips, coated in the breading of your choice, and fried in olive oil is out of this world.

Not sure if this would work, but as anyone who was at the get-together last year knows, we oftentimes cook a whole frozen turkey breast on high in a crock pot with chicken broth, poultry seasoning, and a little butter all day. It's very moist and tastes great!
