Definite decrease this year. do to people trespassing and shooting deer out of are stands and Fields ,have found 4 deer this year shot and not retrieved. because the land owner and myself have busted them! have seen them this year get out of the stand take off there Orange run in the tall grass(like we don't see ya ) then run to there father in laws place next door 2 acer then act like they are hunting that beware we have invested money in video equipment if you are the ones doing this and reading this. beware you will be prosecuted !

It is hard to tell since I do not live on the farm, and no body else hunts it legally. My mother is law owes it with my brother in law, and he usually plants enough food for them like soy bean, corn, and plenty of clover is around and in big bales. But I have plotted on a map of the farm where I have killed deer the last 36 yrs. and have sighted monster also, and lately it seems that either I am not in the woods long enough or there are fewer deer. In a couple of years I am moving up to the farm then I can keep watch over it. I do take friends hunting there and give them the best spots and they have killed some really nice ones. 150 to 170 class deer and I have videoed in velvet and hard atlers 180 and better but no one has seen them during the daylight. or they have been poached, which has happened alot.

nodog, next year those small bucks will be bigger buck and then by the third year they'll be shooters. At least you're seeing bucks, give it time and practice patience and good management and you should be able to harvest some nice bucks in the next couple years.
I agree with the does being sick or something. I think Ehd has had more of an effect than we realize right now. From what I'm hearing more deer were affected by ehd than originally thought. I didn't notice much difference on our land, but we are very selective so we have a built in cushion for the hard years. We don't allow any buck less than 3 1/2 years old to be harvested and only take about 5% of the doe herd before the rut and never shoot any does after the rut due to the potential of does being bred by the good genetics that we worked to establish on the property. It's payed off bigtime...Just my 2 Cents.

Numbers were down this year from last year. The year before last was probably the best deer numbers I had seen in my woods. Looks like a decline to me. Didnt see as many while spotlighting or driving to the woods either. I still saw deer but not as many. Im looking forward the harvest result numbers this year.

I live and hunt in Switzerland County. I have seen more mature bucks on our property this year than ever. It seemed that they quit moving during the entire gun season. They are just now starting to go into the fields again.
