If any you process your own deer these are awesome. The one I have is old and just bought a new one. This is a very good deal from Sportsmansguide. Even includes a scale for weighing all your portions. I'm a member so I got a little better deal and bought this $57.97 with a $5 coupon I had. I put all my meat in these. When I need to thaw something quickly I just submerge the package in warm water. www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=376556

Ive got my Food Saver from Sam's Club for 125.00 or so and it came with a canister set and a couple rolls of bags. Its works great for cut meat, like steaks and tenderloin. I also vacuum pack my summer sausage. The other day I made some jerky and put the meat into the big canister with marinade and vacuumed it for 30 minutes. They say 30 minutes is like 24 hour marinade in the refrigerator.
If you freeze your own meat and fish a Food Saver is a very handy appliance to have. h.h.

My parents have one of those from the early 80s, and they used it all the time for meats, sauces, fish, soups, etc. It was the handiest thing, and really helped to eliminate freezer burn. I was thinking of getting one because I only cook for myself and Mbogo as well sometimes, and a lot of food can go bad because it's so hard to buy and fix smaller portions. However, I'm too much of a cheapskate to drop the money on it. Good to know someone had luck with this model!
