Do you wear gloves while field dressing a deer?

I'm not worried about contacting the blood, I just hate how slippery it makes my grip in the knife. Using a Gerber Gator helps some, but good gloves keep you from cutting things you don't want to cut.

No I don't. Not too worried about it....I've gutted countless deer and never had a problem. It's probably no a bad idea, but I like to feel what I'm doing. It really doesn't bother me to get bloody that's part of it. Ridge

I try to keep a pair of the yellow Dollar Store cheap dish washing rubber gloves in my fanny pack, but it seems if and when I do need them I have already used them for somthing else and forgot to replace them.

I checked yes, even though I invariably end up with blood somewhere on my forearm. I guess I'm not *that* worried about contacting the blood, it just makes clean-up a LOT easier. I've been using gloves for many years now, and keep a couple pairs of latex-type gloves in with my gear while afield. They take up very little room and wiegh almost nothing.

Since most gloves are made for x-large hands and I wear medium sized gloves. Which means I have small hands, I did not vote. I have tried gloves and they slid around so much that I was worried more about cutting my self. This year I found some small-medium sized gloves and will give them a try.
I guess my vote would have to have been no but I have used them. Sometimes maybe.

I use surgical latex gloves for field dressing and skinning. Not worried about the blood, just like the feel of my knives a little better. Keep a couple pairs in my fanny pack and back pack at all times. Wife is a nurse so I get them real cheap.... Clean-up is easier as well.

Heck no. Just reach in, cut and pull, get blood everywhere. The blood is all part of the fun.

I keep a ziplock bag full of latex gloves in my pack.
Clean up is alot easier with the gloves. My hands always have nicks and cuts all over them...............better safe then sorry .

Yes, I do. If not I am picking stuff from under the nails for a week. I also have a pair of gutting pants. I have an old pair of rain pants. The ones with and elastic waste band that if you breathed on them they would tear. From Wal-Mart years ago. Keeps blood off my other clothes. I always have water in the back of the truck and some old rags.

Yep I do. I remember when I didn't one time. It was warm day and I field dressed in my tee shirt. I didn't have anything to clean up with so I figured I'd stop by Burger King to wash my hands and get lunch. I got some eye opening looks

I too bought one of those 10 dollar rain suits to help keep my cloths blood free. I like that. As for clean up. I took one of the wifes detergent bottles after she used up all of the soap to wash cloths, filled it about 1/2 full of water and some diaper wipe thingy's. Use it at the truck and it works great. You could use scent free soap if you wanted but tide works fine and it is at the truck and not in the hunting area. Keeps the stearing wheel clean too, no blood.
