We've read of some strange things found in the out of doors, but what all have you "misplaced" out there? I've donated a few knives, gloves, grunt call, and apparently a small pair of binoculars. parson

My favorite grunt call ever is still out there somewhere. Also the guts to my Primos Wench call are on the shores of the Patoka reservoir.

When I was a teen I lost my wallet out squirrel hunting.......I think it had maybe $10 in it, along with drivers license and student ID, some photos.....nothing major. Anyway, I criss-crossed that wood lot all day looking for it and never did find it......until 2 years later. I found it laying on the leaves, still had the unuseable money and ID's in it! I was amazed at finding it after that much time gone by.

A flashlight which I found later on and it still worked. And for Hawkeye I too lost a really nice doe that the blood trail stopped on. That experince is no fun.

I wonder how many of us have left bow hangers screwed into branches of trees we've been in... I have to buy new ones every year.

Like most people I have lost a knife or two. This past season I left my shooting stick because I was too darn tired to walk back and get it after dragging out a deer.

bow hangers and knives are my worst. I know where one is but it's in such a poison ivy infested nasty tree I just look at it when I walk past and shake my head. I lost my bow and back pack in Colorado one time a few years ago. I found them, but it was after 3 of us looked for a couple of hours. I still catch flack about that....and it is very deserving. I was chasing a Porcupine for a picture when I went too far and couldn't find them !! DUH !!! My bright yellow fletching is the only thing that saved me.

I once knew a guy that left his thermos of coffee with his wrist watch around the cup on the side of a mountain in Colorado. 10 years later he came across the same thermos right where he left it. He could'nt believe the watch still worked, but he was really amazed when he took the lid off the thermos and the coffee was still hot.

I cant count the number of cell phones I've lost while hunting the flooded timber, 4 that I can readily remember.

Too numerous to recall them all. The latest was last springs turkey season. When I got back to camp, I discovered my pot call and striker had somehow escaped from my vest. I retraced my steps (no small feat in the unbroken HNF) and found the call a half mile from camp where I had knelt down to rest. Never recovered the striker though.
Over the past 25 years we've named certain spots in our hunting area. One such spot is "Lost Bow Ridge", where my buddy and I hung our bows up on a group of saplings while we blood-tracked a doe he had shot. Inexplicably (LOL), we couldn't find them when we back tracked in the half light of dusk. We ended up starting on the blood trail the following morning where he had shot the deer and easily found them.
It's all evened out over the years though, as I've found about as much of other peoples stuff as I've lost of my own.

I've got a set of turkey decoys that someone left in the woods-if you think they are yours tell what woods you left 'em in and I'll give 'em back but only after you tell me why you were there

I can't really recall loosing anything in the woods... I've still got at least one bow hanger in a tree at my house and a ladder stand (wooden) and a ladder (again, wooden) at the woods up at Dad's. But the stand and ladder stay there year-round... Too heavy to carry out!

A grunt call or two, couple of flashlights, one of the lexan type canteen bottles, I still like my old military style plastic one the best if only it would fit on the new fanny pack.
