I spoke with several folks who all commented that the support for the PCR's was "overwhelming". That said don't let up. Keep active and if this is truly what you want, try and make the meeting. (I also think the final vote on this will not occur until May).

Jack But we all need to understand that there are some that will undermine this proposal AT ALL COSTS.There is at least one individual that is contacting anyone and every including his local and state politicians with scare tactics against these mid-range rifles. Be forewarned - the opposition does not play fair. How many emails and letters does it take to offset one rifle ignorant politican? Your guess is as good as mine, but keep it up.

I have sent a few emails and I also have gotten around 15 guys here at work to do the same. In one email I commented on the fact that the IDHA could not give a single reason on a public hunting board as to why this proposal was a bad idea, they could only make comments that it MIGHTR do this or do that. I gave links to the hunting board so they would hopefully read for themselves. I also pointed out how the IDHA, or certain members of the IDHA, was trying to recruit non-sportsman and trying to scare people into believing that this is a bad thing but in reality it is not going to change anything for the non-hunter. I think the board members of the IDHA are too old fashion and fear change. Let them keep their bows and let us have our mid range firearms just like the state of Indiana says we should.
I would really like to join an Indiana hunting organization that is not involved with the IDHA in any way and not afraid of change. Anyone know of one?

Here's some simple data to put paid to any idea that PCR's are either too powerful or not powerful enough. 12ga 3" 1oz (437gr): 1040 fps 1052 ftlbs - 4.6" POI (Winchester X123RS15 Foster) .357 158gr (1/3oz): 1710 fps 1025 ftlbs - 0.9" POI (Buffalo Bore 19C/20, MV 2153fps, tinyurl.com/253oxm ) .44mag 240gr (1/2oz): 1362 fps 988 ftlbs -2.7" POI (Winchester's X44MHSP2 posted RIFLE Data) .357, 180gr (2/5oz): 1470 fps 864 ftlbs -1.9" POI (My Chrony) 20ga 3" 3/4oz (328gr): 1008 fps 739 ftlbs -4.8" POI (Winchester X203RS5 Foster) 16ga 2-3/" 4/5oz : 950 fps 692 ftlbs -5.9" POI (Winchester X16RS5 Foster) .357, 180gr (2/5oz): 1282 fps 657 ftlbs -1.9" POI (Federal Data C357G, 18.5" TB ) Looks like the 2 main PCR calibers fit nicely into the middle of published 12ga & 20ga data. The "Bigger" PCR cartridges like the .454, .480Ruger, & .500S&W are likewise equivelent to Premium High Performance Sabot Slugs. Freedom to choose equivelent equipment.

..... IDHA .... IDHA ..... IDHA .... IDHA .... ... IDHA ... Why are you so concerned about what the Idaho Dental Hygenists Association thinks? Or are you worried about the Illinois Dental Hygenists Association? Hmmm... Oh here we are, the Indiana Dental Hygenists Association is pretty active. I think somebody needs a better set of initials. ;D (Honestly. Who goes out and starts an Org without seeing whose initials/name you share? That's just bad planning/marketing.)

It has been the number one headline on the main page at the Red Brush Rifle Range gun club website for the last 2 months. I am a long time member of this club and it does have 500 members. Folks are very interested in the PCRs. Check out ... www.redbrush.org/.........and see what great work we do.

I wish my club would deign to put it on their website. I asked, but they are a "shooting club" not a "hunting" club.
Meh.
One more year and we should be able to get rid of the rest of the geriatrics on the executive council...

Here we in Indiana are bickering about PCR's and having supposed hunting brothers opposing their usage while the hunters and gun owners in Ill are fighting for their lives to be able to keep semi-auto rifle (any caliber) and shotguns. Now is the time to quit the nit picking and stand tall for the passage of another tool.

I"m thinking when this is over, all the pro PCR folks should sign on to the IDHA and vote in new leadership. Wouldn't that be fun?
